MARCUS LEMONIS IS BACK, AND THIS TIME THE STAKES ARE EVEN HIGHER.
Marquette University and alumnus Marcus Lemonis, star of CNBC’s The Profit and The Partner, are teaming up once again to launch a new $3 million giving challenge which runs February 17 through April 17.
Last year, the Marquette community rallied to exceed his $1 million challenge, with 3,072 donors contributing a total of $1,301,029, which included a $300,000 gift from Lemonis, Arts '95.
Lemonis has upped his game this year by offering to donate up to $1.5 million of his own funds if Marquette raises $1.5 million. Lemonis’s gift would start a student-run business program to be housed within Marquette’s College of Business Administration, called the Marcus Lemonis Pay The Profit Forward Program which would provide initial funding for students to pursue their business ideas. Donors, however, can direct their gift to any fund within the university.
“I am eternally grateful for the guidance and development that Marquette University provided to me as I embarked on my journey,” Lemonis said. “It is my honor to support the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders on the same campus where it all began for me.”
Lemonis is excited to support his own passion at Marquette, and we hope you are, too. Please consider making a gift to an area you are passionate about, whether that be student scholarships or one of the many other university initiatives. Your new gift of any size, to any fund, will count toward the challenge.
Make your gift go even further! Join the challenge as a recurring donor, and we’ll count one full year of donations toward the challenge. For example, if you sign up to give $10 each month, we’ll count $120 toward the challenge.
