MARQUETTE FACULTY SPEAKERS
Dr. Michael Donoghue, Assistant Professor
Helen Way Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, Department of History
Dr. Michael Donoghue specializes in the history of U.S. foreign relations and U.S.-Latin American relations. After spending time in the Republic of Panama on a Fulbright Overseas Research Grant, he authored Borderland on the Isthmus: Race, Culture, and the Struggle for the Canal Zone. His new book project involves U.S.-Cuban cultural and social interactions after World War II.
Dr. Sarah Bonewits Feldner, Associate Professor
J. William and Mary Diederich College of Communication, Corporate Communication
Dr. Sarah Bonewits Feldner has published research on topics like ethics at the intersection of industry and government and social media and cause networks. She also excels at working with students, and her teaching in areas such as corporate and managerial communication has earned faculty awards for teaching excellence and advising, among others. She praises Marquette for its mission in encouraging “students to challenge the status quo and be the difference.”
Janine Geske, Distinguished Professor of Law
Marquette University Law School
Retired Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Janine P. Geske founded and directs Marquette Law School’s Restorative Justice Initiative. She has served as Milwaukee County circuit court judge, Wisconsin Supreme Court justice, interim Milwaukee County executive and interim Law School dean. In supervising the Marquette Restorative Justice Clinic, she works extensively with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, victims groups, prosecutors, police, social service agencies and neighborhood associations to “right the harm.”
Dr. Andrew Williams, John P. Raynor, S.J., Distinguished Chair and Professor
College of Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering
Dr. Andrew Williams, Grad ’95, who joined the College of Engineering at the beginning of the fall semester, directs Marquette’s Humanoid Engineering and Intelligent Robotics Lab. Named to the “50 Most Important African-Americans in Technology” list by blackmoney.com, he has several years of experience in private industry with companies such as General Electric and Apple. He also has published several journal articles, conference proceedings and the book Out of the Box: Building Robots, Transforming Lives.
